PHONES GET BACK TO WINNING WAYS

Following last weekends 3-2 defeat against Chard at BTRA, the phones got back to winning ways when they welcomed Devizes Town today.

Phones took the lead midway through the first half when Ben Griffiths found the back of the Devizes net to make it 1-0. The score remained 1-0 at half time and did not change until there was 15 minutes left on the clock when the Phones doubled their lead through a Leon Britton goal. Late on Devizes got a goal back with only 1 minute of normal time to play but it was only to be a consolation as the full time whistle went without them finding an equaliser. That meant the Phones recorded a 2-1 win to get back to winning ways.

This meant that the Phones remained in second place despite the abandonment in the game between Chard Town and Westbury United. The Phones are now 1 point behind Westbury with 2 games in hand. Next up for the Phones is going to be a big game as we travel to Westbury on the 30th September.
